Daniel Chalker
Daniel Chalker is both an experienced lawyer and engineer. He focuses his legal practice on bioinformatics, business methods, communications (Internet, landline, optical, RFID and wireless), computer hardware and software, electrical and electromechanical devices, electronics, image processing, integrated circuits, mechanical devices, nanotechnology, payment processing, and semiconductor design, processing and packaging.
Mr. Chalker is formerly with the law firms of Gardere Wynne Sewell, LLP , Warren & Perez and Thompson & Knight, PC. Mr. Chalker has had extensive experience in patent prosecution (US and abroad), opinions (patentability, invalidity and non-infringement), trademark prosecution (US and abroad), intellectual property transactions (technology agreements, licenses, multimillion dollar intellectual property mergers and acquisitions), portfolio analysis (audits, due diligence, setting up intellectual property programs, training), domain name and Internet related disputes, copyrights, and intellectual property litigation and enforcement actions. Prior to obtaining his law degree, he was an electrical engineer with various companies in the electrical utility industry.
Mr. Chalker received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and his Juris Doctorate Degree, cum laude, from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio in. He is licensed to practice law in Texas and is a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
